Intriguing! Definitely a well written book that's an easy read. It's not only interesting and funny but when reading about some of the hardships and adversity Thankful had to overcome, you're reminded just how tough & at times unfair the world can be. It's a testament about the hard work and determination that's needed to overcome such obstacles. Some may be able to relate to his stories and others just admire them but either way he takes you on a well written journey throughout his life. See for yourself.

Alien in the Delta is a true story of determination and character. Thankful Strother's determination to be someone in a world that was changing in the 1940's, 50's and 60's is a testament to his strong character. Leaving the south and joining the service was a huge step for this young man and helped pave the way for his future. His strong commitment to overcome the obstacles in his way are what made him the successful man his is today. His story is interesting and an informative narration of what life in a world of racial prejudice was like during those times. I applaud Mr. Strother's for taking the time to put his thoughts on paper and share them with us.
